'THE FLY' SHORT FILM

'THE FLY' SHORT FILM  'The Fly' is a 6 minute short film about a getaway driver who awaits a bank robbery. He tries to focus but the appearance of a fly makes his wait become increasingly intensified.  The film is set in a car outside a bank. Various props such as doughnuts, coffee cups, masks, a knife, and a gun are used by the man to get rid of the fly. As the film proceeds, each object becomes more intense, and he ends up shooting a bullet through the window of the car to get rid of the fly. He holds a tooth pick in his mouth, which slightly foreshadows the fact that it will later end up injuring him; fake blood is then introduced in the film, and the situation is therefore intensified. The use of the airbag at one point also makes the setting smaller and the man has less space, which adds another element of stress to the situation. The sound of the fly is loudest; it is amplified over the ambient sound of the surroundings. This draws focus to the fly, and...

My Media Blogpost

• Where do you watch films? Frequently I watch films at home, either on the television with my parents or alone, or on an iPad alone. Sometimes, I go to the cinema to watch films; I either go to Peckham Plex or the Dulwich Picture House. If I go with my parents I always go to the Dulwich Picture House, but sometimes, when I'm with my friends, I go to the Peckham Plex because it is £5 cheaper. • What devices do you use to watch films? How does this change the viewing experience? If I'm not at the cinema, I either use the television, an iPad, or a bigger, projector screen in my house. I rarely watch films on a laptop, because I don't own one, so I would have to be at a friends house. The projector is definitely more atmospheric, because of the wider picture and the louder sound, so the viewing experience is more effective. The television is smaller so the viewing experience is less effective, but the television gives a wider picture and more sound than the iPad. However,...

Activity 1. Evaluating publishing your work

Examples of digital and physical presentations I have been involved in  I have presented the majority of my work digitally. A few of many examples are my analysis of the set short films, my costume and cast list, and my mood board for my soundtrack. I have physically presented my script, storyboard and shot list, however I also have digital copies of my script and shot list. My storyboard is hard to initially present digitally because it involved pencil drawings. Advantages of digital presentation and not physical presentation, is that work is easier to present if it is all on one digital resource, and if it is saved on a computer, it is hard to lose. Physical presentations and copies of my research for this film sometimes mean it is hard to edit and have a neat result.  Disadvantages of digital presentation and not physical presentation, is that when filming, you can't access the work, and if I have my physical presentation on me, I can edit it straight away. Overall, it h...
